Chicago Public Schools to get new CEO

Chicago Public Schools’ next CEO will be Pedro Martinez, superintendent of the San Antonio Independent School District, where he issued mask and vaccine mandates in conflict with the Texas governor. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the selection of Martinez, who grew up in the city and graduated from a local high school, but the Chicago Teachers Union has pointed out that Martinez is not a teacher and lacks classroom experience.
